Hybrid Diwali Celebration at Bal Vihar of St Louis

ST LOUIS, MO -The Bal Vihar of St. Louis has had a tradition of celebrating Diwali for over 29 years now.
This year, on November 7, 2021, The Bal Vihar hosted their annual Diwali celebration with great spirit. Despite being virtual for yet another year, Bal Vihar and its members would not be pushed away from the opportunity to celebrate the auspicious day.

The event was hosted by Sameer Iyer, a Youth Group Senior. Sudhir Brahmbhatt, the president of Bal Vihar kicked off the evening with a brief speech. The Hindu Temple of St. Louis priests facilitated the puja ceremony while many children and families who joined the Zoom participated by using the wonderful diyas they hand-crafted in the previous Bal Vihar class.

This year’s Diwali celebration was performed in a hybrid manner with some youth group students, sponsor families, bhajan teachers, and some admin members attending in person at the temple.
