One word that is enough to give anyone anxiety in a matter of seconds is the word, ‘boss’, because let’s face it, most of them are the reason why you’re on the edge of your seat all the time.

It is said that whether or your life is hell or heaven is decided by the kind of manager you have, and seems like Tesla employees have recently found themselves on a highway to hell, especially after news of Elon Musk threatening to fire all Tesla managers who refuse to ‘execute directions’ without giving a valid reason has surfaced online.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk who is the founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer at SpaceX and Product Architect of Tesla has a reputation of not being shy of making a point when he wants to. And he does so in elaborate and to-the-point emails, two of which have recently been leaked.

And while one of the emails invites suggestions from employees on what they feel about listening to music while working, the other one threatens them to adhere to his directions, lest they would want to be fired.

Here is what the second email reads –

Subj. Please Note

If an email is sent from me with explicit directions, there are only three actions allowed by managers.

1. Email me back to explain why what I said was incorrect. Sometimes, I’m just plain wrong!

2. Request further clarification if what I said was ambiguous.

3. Execute the directions.

If none of the above are done, that manager will be asked to resign immediately.

Thank you,

Elon

Ever since the two emails were circulated on social media, people had divided opinions on Elon Musk’s tone for his employees. Some called his email, “perfectly fair and reasonable,” while others thought it was way too harsh to make a point.

I wanna share the exact email because there is a bit more nuance to the email than what the headlines may imply. The email was originally sent out Oct 4, 2021: https://t.co/XbXDMmJvI3 pic.twitter.com/BVyGKqyxqg

A user even wrote, “This is uber capitalist lol. It will work with the company as a startup, but won’t work long term. Especially when Elon leaves.”

What do you think about his tone?
