5 Crucial Skincare Tips To Follow Post Shaving That Most Men Overlook

Most men start shaving their faces around the time they are teenagers. However, they might overlook some very common shaving mistakes that often ruin their skin.

Shaving a scruffy and unkempt beard is the most amazing feeling but only if it’s not followed by skin irritation and itchiness.

There are plenty of shaving tips that tell you how you should and should not shave, but what about how you should treat your skin post-shaving? It is as important as shaving correctly.

Here is what you should do after shaving to make sure your skin looks and feels good:

1. Don’t Wipe Harshly

Freshly shaved skin is sensitive and can be irritated if you rub it harshly with a towel. It can lead to redness, irritation and itchiness.

Instead, once you are done shaving, rinse it with warm water and pat it dry gently with a soft towel.

2. Treat Razor Cuts

No matter how pro you are at shaving, you are bound to have a few nicks and cuts while shaving. Leaving them untreated can cause infection and further skin irritation.

Use an antiseptic liquid or cream to wash it and heal.

3. Use Aftershave

Shaving can cause the skin to feel extra dry and parched. Using an aftershave makes your skin look and feel fresh and rehydrates it.

It also works on healing the razor cuts and infections rising from it.

4. Use A Toner

Toner helps clean off the extra grim, leftover product and oil on skin while also closing the open pores that prevent acne and visible large pores.

Toner also maintains the pH level of the skin that might get disrupted while shaving.

5. Moisturise

Aftershave isn’t enough to hydrate the skin.

After shaving, restoring the lost moisture in the skin is very important and you should slather a generous amount of moisturiser on your face. Use a moisturiser that suits your skin.
