Hyderabad: IT services, consulting and business solutions major Tata Consultancy Services emerged as the largest employer in Hyderabad in the IT sector with more than 62,000 employees.
TCS, among the IT companies operating in Hyderabad for long, crossed the new milestone this week. “Hyderabad will continue to remain an integral part of the TCS story,” Vice President & Regional Head, TCS, V Rajanna said.
IT Minister KT Rama Rao felicitated Rajanna on achieving the new milestone in employment generation.
The IT leader said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid attention to the industry needs and at the same time was focused on getting more investments into the State.
“In 2017, we met the Chief Minister and explained about our big investment at Adibatla. The location did not have much traffic. We raised issues about safety of employees. Chandrashekhar Rao immediately called the top cops and asked them to set up a police station next to TCS campus in a week. The Police Station did come in the next three weeks or so. While doing so, he asked when we will cross the 50,000 employment mark. He is a great businessman when it comes to the State’s interests,” recalled Rajanna.
He was presented with a Rs 2.2 crore cheque to the Minister towards purchase of critical care ventilators for government hospitals.
