Heavy rains expected in Mumbai today as Cyclone Tauktae intensifies into ‘severe storm’

The Cyclone Tauktae intensified into a “very severe cyclonic storm” on Sunday morning, the India Meteorological Department said. Over 100 rescue teams are deployed for six states: Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. The Indian Navy and Air Force is also helping with relief operations.
