Delhi’s minimum temperature dips to 4 deg C; fog lowers visibility in several areas


Parts of Delhi witnessed fog on Wednesday as the minimum temperature in the national capital dropped to four degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. According to an IMD statement, ‘moderate’ fog lowered visibility to 201 metres at Safdarjung and to 350 metres at Palam. According to the weather department, “very dense” fog is when visibility is between 0 and 50 metres, 51 and 200 is “dense”, 201 and 500 “moderate”, and 501 and 1,000 “shallow”.
