Navas avoids talking about Real Madrid link



Rio de Janeiro, July 2 (IANS/EFE) Costa Rican goalkeeper, Keylor Navas, has avoided speaking about rumours linking him with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, saying that he was only focussed on his duties with the national team in Brazil.

”I handle things with confidence. Some things are more important at this time, as the honour for the country and do great things for Costa Rica,” said Navas in a press conference Tuesday, reports EFE.

Responding to questions linking him with a Real Madrid move, the Levante goalie said: "I am focused on the selection. A World Cup is a unique opportunity and most important for me now is Costa Rica and the World Cup in which I am.”

Los Ticos goalkeeper expressed his happiness with the current campaign of the Costa Rican team in Brazil during which they reached the quarterfinals for the first time in their World Cup history.

Costa Rica take on the Netherlands July 5 at the Arena Fonte Nova in the Brazilian city of Salvador.

Navas spoke about facing the Dutch saying that the Costa Ricans will continue with the same spirit and style, that has seen them flourish in the tournament.
