India House bridal expo offers ideas for dream wedding
The venue resembling a real wedding occasion had some 40 stall of vendors, including photographers, videographers, DJs, live singers, henna and make-up artists, cakes, wedding planners, invitations, flowers, jewelry, Indian/ multi-cuisine, Indian clothing, mandaps, decorators, limousines, carriages, hotels, travel agencies and what have you.
Whether it is renting a hall of appropriate size with required amenities, designing decorations centered on the theme of the wedding, coordinating flower arrangements, finding a DJ, selecting the jewelry and clothes, selection of food menu, or organizing transportation for guests, the bridal expo vendors had everything.
The India House event allows consumers to sample the wedding cake, listen to music, meet wedding photographers, sit in a limousine and enjoy the bridal fashion show, all under one roof.
No wonder, 500 guests, most of them special invitees, flocked to the expo venue where the two major attractions were multi-cuisine food tasting and a fashion show, 'Saris and Things', which had 30 professional models presenting the latest collection of wedding saris, lehengas, anarkalis, bridesmaid saris and designer blouses.
Said Shital Daftari, owner and designer at 'Saris and Things', an exclusive online boutique where you can rent or buy designer clothes at a fraction of retail prices: "The latest collection launched at the expo featured the latest styles in Indian fashion and was specially designed keeping in mind the needs of today’s sophisticated brides">
The sponsors included Arlington Rental which set up the eye-catching stage; Saris and Things; DJ Desi Jockey; Radio Chann Pardesi; Bombay Chopsticks and of course, India House which introduced a state-of-the-art catering kitchen.
