Infiltration bid foiled in Poonch district of Jammu

Jammu : The army has foiled an attempt by a group of militants to sneak into Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir from across the Line of Control (LOC), sources said Wednesday.According to army sources, Pakistani troops opened fire at Tarkundi post on the LOC in Poonch, about 250 km north west of Jammu, to "give cover to the group of infiltrators".The firing began at 9 p.m. Tuesday night and went on for two hours. Reliance Industries to invest in Network 18, TV18

New Delhi : Mukesh Ambani promoted Reliance Industries (RIL) on Tuesday said it would invest in Network18 and TV18, to help fund promoters of the media firms to acquire a bouquet of regional channels from the Eenadu group."Independent Media Trust, a trust set up for the benefit of RIL, has agreed to fund the promoters of Network18 and TV18 to enable them to subscribe to the proposed rights issue announced by both the companies today," RIL said in a statement.The investment would result in making the two firms debt free.
